Handmade in stainless steel here in Bristol, England by a guy called Terry, the Bag Stopp has come as a response to the niggling frustration suffered through hours of riding with flailing, unruly handlebar bags. This simple, rather elegant design can be quickly fitted and removed as necessary to the fork crown, giving stability and support to a wide range of bar mounted bags.
The creation of this design should give greater possibilities to attach bags to various size frames whilst adding stability, cable clearance and removing head tube abrasion or tyre strike.
The support bar is 240mm in length and features threaded mounts on each end. These could be used to mount a light or potentially some handlebar streamers....entirely a personal preference.
The height and reach of the support bar pictured is 80mm x 80mm from the fork crown.
Terry is a nice man ...we've made a 90 x 120 version during testing and are open to creating options should they be needed.
Mounted to the fork crown, the Bag Stopp is intended to work in unison with the handlebar to provide a secure attachment point for larger bar bags. Bags can be attached to the support bar through webbing at either end whist being secured in the centre with a Voile nano strap or similar
Design offers greater possibilities to those with smaller headtubes or lack of fork mounting options.
Quickly and easily removed or transferred. Will fit steel forks with a drilled crown. Compatible with disc brakes, V-Brakes and some cantilevers.
